with one of her students the teacher asked,"Boy. what is

What I miss from high school....

My classmates: miss my good old buddies; they say that high school life is the most exciting and very happy chapter of ones life. I agree to this; most of my close close friends are from high school; miss the good times and the times together, the crazy things we used to do, the adventure, the outings, the dramas and the comedies of high school life will always be a memory to cherish and to treasure, at least now we have a yahoo group to keep up connected always and still update each other with the latest happenings, it feels great to finally hear from them after a few years of no communication.

My teachers: hmmm well, I dont remember them all, only those who have made an impact in my life, or have been unique in their ways escially the strict one and the cool ones. I dont really mis them all that much, im not really close to them. If theres one teacher that I am really proud of is my teacher during my sixth grade: Mr. Joseph Genson; was the best teacher for me; taught me a lot about just everything; from proper pronunciation of my abcs up to my multiplication table and up to music and of having quality work.

Things i miss from my childhood...

1. Playing; its one of the things that i miss so much from my childhood; im too old to play I guess with all the games i used to play when i was young....; i missed my playmates; chasing butterflis and just running around the neighborhood; I have noticed the kids of today no longer play the games we used to play before like marbles; rubber bands and hide and seek; the kid of today are more hi tech with all the computer games and stuff like that; I hope they are not so hi tech that they have forgotten how to be children; and acting a if they are old enough to send much money on gadgets that never existed during my time; i hope that im not too old to notice...

2. Sleeping... As far as i can remember, my mother would chase me in the afternoons just to let me take a nap; i was too busy to love sleeping then when its playing that I gotin mind....but now I dont even have enough to sleep coz im just too busy earning money for my needs and my family's needs as well. Now, at work, i sneek just 15 minutes just to sleep, wew isnt it ironic? The world has changed and i know i can no longer enjoy the things i used to enjoy as a child...

3. My father.....though he was the one who have been there always disciplining me with his belts and the like, but i was glad he spent time doing that..., though he was longer a memory, each suffering with his disciplining was now a joy to remember. I know fathers now adays no longer have the time to be with their children, they think money is all that matters,......Im glad i had a father like him; my only regret is that i was not able to tell him howmuch i love him; maybe i was young then and didnt have the courage to tell him s when he was with me. How proud i am to have a father like him, for taking care of me, for correcting me when i was wrong and for alays being there evry step of th way. Pa, i love you, i hope u can hear me......

Getting Accepted into Google AdSense
This is the last day of the AdSense Insider course and we are going to put it all together here so that you can be up and running in a day or so from now.

I said earlier that there are things you can do if you find your site is not accepted by Google and by far the most useful thing to bear in mind is that Google seeks out information. So unless your website has a lot of information in it, you probably won't get accepted.

Now as you can imagine, this is not a clear cut issue.

Who decides whether your site is information rich or not?

Automatic Site Assessment
The answer is that in the first instance Google's own spider, the software that scans your site, is the first judge. If it 'thinks' your site is content rich then you will pass the first hurdle. And this is where some sites fail.

The spider is an automated system and it makes quick, not always accurate judgements which gives you the first clue about getting your site accepted:

If your site is rejected fast by which I mean within a couple of hours or so, it has probably been rejected by Google's spider on the basis that it doesn't understand what your site is about too clearly or it hasn't found much content.

So you will have to get to work and add content - write further copy relevant to your main them, scan the web and find good articles to post (but make sure you get the appropriate permissions). All this will help.

And then submit again.

BE WARNED: there is a rumor going round that one site was rejected and it simultaneously got dropped from a previously high ranking on Google's search results page. It's only a rumor, but be warned.

Similarly, if your site is accepted fast, it will almost certainly have been accepted automatically.

Human intervention
However, there appears to be a middle case where the spider is not sure whether your site qualifies or not. And in this instance, the site is referred to a human who makes the final decision.

FactsAboutAdSense.com passed straight through the acceptance process because it has a load of content in it, has a clear theme running right through the site and is designed to move up the search engine ranks too.

Tip:-
If you are thinking of applying for AdSense, check out sites that compete with your own for traffic and see if any of them have been accepted. If they have, compare the content in them to your own to see if you exceed theirs. (This is quite a subjective process but it can help you)

If you are rejected, you can always apply again.

Multiple sites
Google actively discourages you from running several AdSense accounts on different sites. I'm not clear why they do this at the moment apart perhaps from saving operational costs involved in printing and posting checks. However, you can run the same AdSense code on a range of sites that you run. You can also monitor your earnings from each site if you use Google's Channel system - I explain this in detail in my book.

Today we are going to deal with the process of implementing AdSense into your site. Of course, you first of all need to get accepted into the AdSense program.

Assuming your site has made the grade, you will get an email from Google with the title "Welcome to AdSense". This will include a link to a page on Google where you enter your username and password. Make your password non-obvious because, when you log on to your account, you say where the money goes and you don't want someone else redirecting it do you?

Included in your AdSense control panel is a form where you specify what shape of ads you want to display and, when you make your selection, some JavaScript code appears in a box below.

All you need to do is cut and paste this code into your site. But there are some decisions you need to make first.

There are three steps.

Decide which pages you want to place AdSense ads on.


Decide what format ads you want on each page.


Paste the code in the site

Where to place your ads
Do you want AdSense ads on your home page?

This depends on what your site is about.

Remember, unless you are writing a site specifically to get AdSense revenues, the main aim of your site is not going to be getting clicks that TAKE PEOPLE AWAY from your pages because every click on an AdSense ad does exactly that.

The best place to put ads is on content-rich pages that you already have but which are not producing any revenues for you.

continued....We saw yesterday that AdSense revenue was controllably dependent on

• Click thru rate - you need to encourage those clicks- but watch out you don't break Google's rules.
• Click thru price - have content relating to high value keywords
• Page traffic - more visits equals more clicks

The focus today is on Page traffic.

I don't know how much traffic your site currently gets but you probably want more. However, there are two different sorts of traffic

1. The casual visitor who is not going to do much, is click/trigger happy and won't hang around and doesn't come back.
2. The keen, genuinely interested, active site participant. This is the sort of traffic you want to get and keep because your job is to develop a relationship with this type of visitor - not a one-night stand.

Why?

Because people who visit your site frequently are going to be interested in what is on it and this interest will extend to your AdSense ads - that's what Google does for you automatically.

Interest = clicks
Clicks = money

They'll also come back of their own accord and each time they do, they might see another interesting ad too.

That thinking has helped us define who we want but we now have two tasks ahead:

1. Getting these people to visit your site the first time.
2. Getting these people engaged in the site so that they remember it, like it and come back frequently

First an apology: there's a bit of math ahead!

Yesterday we looked at AdWords and learnt how AdSense is Google’s AdWords syndication program that posts AdWords ads on content-targeted websites: Ads about binoculars appear on web pages with information about binoculars on them.
It makes sense doesn't it!
Today we are going to look at the factors that affect how much money you will get from Google if you sign up (and are accepted for) the AdSense program, paying detailed attention to those areas that are controllable - because many aren't.
The AdSense revenue equation
Revenue is generated for you when someone clicks on an AdSense ad on your site. Google charges the advertiser for the click thru and shares this revenue with you.
The amount you earn from an ad is given by the following equation
Income PER AD =
Click through price (also known as Cost Per Click)
X Fractional pay out
X Click through rate
X Page traffic
X Appearance frequency
The COST PER CLICK is the price the advertiser is bidding to place an ad under the AdWords program and is determined by a complex real time automatic auction process: Google advertisers set a maximum price they are prepared to bid for keywords and they usually pay less than this. The lowest bid in the UK is 4p and in the USA is 5c so if you get clicks on these ads you're not going to make much money.

The FRACTIONAL PAYOUT RATE is the percentage of its revenues that Google pays out to AdSense partners. THIS FIGURE IS NOT DISCLOSED BY GOOGLE. However, anecdotal evidence suggest the payout rate is good and competitive systems such as 7search.com payout around the 50% mark.

CLICK THROUGH RATE is the number of times the ad is clicked on divided by the number of times it is displayed (“impressions”).

PAGE TRAFFIC is the number of times people visit your web page.

APPEARANCE FREQUENCY is the number of times a particular ad appears on your page (remember that ads are rotated by Google automatically and successful ads are shown more often.)

To repeat: this is income PER advertisement, so to calculate your total AdSense income you need to evaluate this equation for each ad on all your web pages and add up the results.

By the way, Google saves you the bother and tells you the answer in the reports it gives you.

But already the complexity of the process is apparent and of these factors, some are completely out of your control: Fractional payout rate and Appearance frequency being two.

So let’s look at those three factors that are at least partially within your control.

Let's get going
AdSense is Google's syndication program for its AdWords advertisements so first up, you need to understand AdWords to make sense of AdSense.

AdWords are small text-only ads that sometimes appear on the right hand side of Google's search results page when you do a search.
They are extraordinarily powerful - MUCH more so than you'd think at first sight - for 5 reasons.
1. They are 100% targeted: the advertiser chooses which keywords have to be entered before their ad is shown. This means that you can make your ad appear ONLY in front
of people ACTIVELY LOOKING for information about a topic.
You sell binoculars? Then you can set up your AdWords ads
so that they show up ONLY when someone enters "Binoculars"
into Google's search box.
You can also restrict your ad coverage to specific countries.

2. You only pay for click thrus. If no one clicks on your ad you don't pay anything but...
3. Google penalises ads that don't work well because it wants only ads that are RELEVANT to the viewer to be seen. Poorly performing ads get disabled automatically. This protects Google's brand from being sullied by irrelevant ads.
4. Google lets advertisers rotate different ads for the same keywords and AUTOMATICALLY shows the most effective ad more often. Thus there is an in-built survival of the fittest process going on where fitness is judged by real consumers voting in real time.
If they click, your ad stays. If they don't, it doesn't.
Evolution can be extremely brutal - and fast!
5. Google gives advertisers incredibly detailed near real-time
response data so you can monitor and adjust your ad without
wasting much money.

So where does AdSense come in this?
Well, Google has taken their excellent AdWords program and extended it to non-Google web sites and branded it AdSense.

However, AdSense differs from AdWords in that Google, instead of looking at the search terms entered into its search box to determine what ads to show, looks at what keywords would be relevant to the web site the ads are to go on.
Example:
If you have a site rich in content about binoculars, AdSense technology determines that it would be an appropriate site to post AdWord ads about binoculars on. (Google uses its existing page ranking technology to assess a site's content.)
There's a good example of AdSense in action here on a web page about web hosting.

How you make money with AdSense

The process is simple.
You sign up for AdSense and if your site is accepted, (we'll cover this process later in the course) Google gives you some code to paste into your web pages. It's
JavaScript stuff that you can simply add into the HTML of your page.When someone views your page this JavaScript fetches ads from Google. If they then CLICK on your ad, Google charges the advertiser a click thru fee and shares it with you.
This is entirely AUTOMATIC so if you have a content rich site with lots of traffic that is not currently making you any money, AdSense is something you should seriously consider.Now maximising this process is much harder and it raises what I call the content dilemma which we'll explore later too:
Is your site designed to earn AdSense revenue or
is its main objective something else?
So that's the background to AdSense.

Arrests under state of emergency defended

SATURDAY's arrests following President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo's declaration of a state of national emergency are not without basis and has "sped up" the resolution of pending cases against some personalities, two government lawyers said.
"There was speeding up of the resolution [of the cases] on the part of the investigators," Chief Presidential Legal Adviser Eduardo Antonio Nachura told INQ7.net when asked how the arrests against partylist Representatives Crispin Beltran (AKBAYAN) and Satur Ocampo (BAYAN) were related to Arroyo's issuance of Proclamation of 1017.

Beltran was arrested in Bulacan early Saturday but Ocampo managed to elude his captors when they tried to detain him during an opposition-sponsored forum at the Sulo restaurant in Quezon City. Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez said the arrests were based on intelligence reports although he admitted that he was not consulted when these were carried out. Gonzalez also said that the list of those who would be arrested was with the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA). "We [the Department of Justice] will only enter the picture once a complaint is filed," he told INQ7.net in a separate interview.
Nachura said that based on information that he had gathered Beltran and Ocampo had pending warrants of arrest but at the same time admitted that the timing by which these arrests were made were “suspicious.”
Nonetheless, Nachura said the arrests could have been done with or without Proclamation 1017 “as long as there was already a warrant of arrest issued by the judge on the case.”
Beltran was arrested for an inciting to sedition charge that was filed against him in 1985, according to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), which arrested the lawmaker.
It was not clear however what case had been filed against Ocampo and when a warrant had been issued against him.
Presidential Chief of Staff Michael Defensor said Friday that following the President's declaration of a state of emergency in the country, warrantless arrest could now be effected.
Press Secretary Ignacio Bunye said Proclamation 1017 did not authorize warrantless arrests, “except as provided for in the Rules of Court.”

As a call center agent or for a customer service officer, I get used to scolded every hour and getting cursed and being yelled at by people I dont know and dont even care to know...(who cares?) Its just a package deal at least im paid to get all the yells and the cursing, I guess its a sort of a counselling here in this area that im into. I just hope that people would feel better after saying those words, I hope they feel happy and satisfied and contented.

Sometimes it just reveals the worst or the best of me, depending on the mood, but generally I fight back and retaliate. I mean, hey i just human, i get hurt with all those things you say just to hurt me. Then, I wake up to the reality that hey come on this is part of your job. In fairness to other callers, some are nice and well mannered.Sometimes or most often I go home with a heavy heart, I feel tired and sick of this routine for almost seven years of my working here. I have no choice, even though they say I got the worst job in the world Im just proud of it. I understand why people get mad when they dont have dial tones or when they have no internet connection, of course they pay for it and they deserve the best best service we could give. But there is no such thing as a perfect system, there are system failures that would cause such and then the calls start floodin'.

The world has become a race, that people have lost the patience to wait they start yelling and worst shouting and ended up saying words I know they might regret in the end. Well, the more I get bombarded with all of these negative truths I have lost my sensitiveness, I dont care if you shout or yell, if u can wait good, if not, then better. But, not that bad as you think I am, but I guess its what they call coping. Coz' if i dont sweet lemon or i dont sour grape, I dont know. Im like doing a free verse poem here, just types what ever comes to mind, a way of releasing......What a day!!!!

My yahoo email impersonated...

Yes, it was impersonated. My officemate asked me if I sent her an email message through yahoo, I told her I didnt send her any mail today. When I looked on her pc the subject was: Gwd; Protected Message and then there was an attachment file" F*ck her.exe". Oh my God! What if that thing who sent through my email have distributed that disgusting email to all my friends on my address book. I have to do something about this. I have emailed ahoo about the incident.

To all my friends pls immediately delete that suspcious email if u recieved it from me. I did not mail that. It might be some virus or something.Im really sorry about this inconvenience.

A New kind of Breast cancer...

A friend emailed this to me; I thought its an information worth sharing.

Please forward to all of the women in your lives . Mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts, friends, etc.

In November, a rare kind of breast cancer was found. A lady developed a rash on her breast, similar to that of young mothers who are nursing.

Because her mammogram had been clear, the doctor treated her with antibiotics for infections. After 2 rounds, it continued to get worse, so her doctor sent her for another mammogram. This time it showed a mass.

A biopsy found a fast growing malignancy. Chemo was started in order to shrink the growth; then a mastectomy was performed; then a full round of Chemo; then radiation. After about 9 months of intense treatment, she was given a clean bill of health.

She had one year of living each day to its fullest. Then the cancer returned to the liver area. She took 4 treatments and decided that she wanted quality of life, not the after effects of Chemo. She had 5 great months and she planned each detail of the final days. After a few days of needing morphine, she died. She left this message to be delivered to women everywhere:

Women, PLEASE be alert to anything that is not normal, and be persistent in getting help as soon as possible.
Paget's Disease: This is a rare form of breast cancer, and is on the outside of the breast, on the nipple and aureole It appeared as a rash, which later became a lesion with a crusty outer edge. I would not have ever suspected it to be breast cancer but it was. My nipple never seemed any different to me, but the rash bothered me, so I went to the doctor for that. Sometimes, it itched and was sore, but other than that it didn't bother me. It was just ugly and a nuisance, and could not be cleared up with all the creams prescribed by my doctor and dermatologist for the dermatitis on my eyes just prior to this outbreak. They seemed a little concerned but did not warn me it could be cancerous.

Now, I suspect not many women out there know a lesion or rash on the nipple or aureole can be breast cancer. (Mine started out as a single red pimple on the aureole. One of the biggest problems with Paget's disease of the nipple is that the symptoms appear to be harmless. It is frequently thought to be a skin inflammation or infection, leading to unfortunate delays in detection and care.)

What are the symptoms?

1. A persistent redness, oozing, and crusting of your nipple causing it to itch and burn (As I stated, mine did not itch or burn much, and had no oozing I was aware of, but it did have a crust along the outer edge on one side.)

2. A sore on your nipple that will not heal. (Mine was on the aureole area with a whitish thick looking area in center of nipple).

3. Usually only one nipple is effected. How is it diagnosed? Your doctor will do a physical exam and should suggest having a mammogram of both breasts, done immediately. Even though the redness, oozing and crusting closely resemble dermatitis (inflammation of the skin), your doctor should suspect cancer if the sore is only on one breast. Your doctor should order a biopsy of your sore to confirm what is going on.

This message should be taken seriously and passed on to as many of your relatives and friends as possible; it could save someone's life.

My breast cancer has spread and metastasized to my bones after receiving mega doses of chemotherapy, 28 treatments of radiation and taking Tamaxofin. If this had been diagnosed as breast cancer in the beginning, perhaps it would not have spread...
