My Blog is One Year Old Today!

WOW! My blog is one year old today. it was one year ago that I have started to explore the blogging world. Wew, I'm glad I've reached this far. It was not a smooth journey, there humps, blind alleys, and even blocks along the way but I'm glad I have crossed it. I have learned a lot from this blogging arena and hope to learn more. Met lots of nice and cool people and expect to meet some more as I continue and hopefully improve lots more. Cheers!

My Vocabulary Score

Your Vocabulary Score: A-
Congratulations on your multifarious vocabulary! You must be quite an erudite person.

Lung Cancer

They say smokers never grow old, they die young. As I am one of the fatherless children who have struggled through life with only a mother to sustain the needs of the family. It was not easy for a young girl like me who have been loved, pampered and taken cared of by a loving father. I fear my father, he was a disciplinarian, but I loved him dearly, though my greatest regret was not being very verbal about it, but I love him so much. I was a papas girl in the making. And as the eldest in the family it was a role I have to play.

At an early age I have to work part time as a student assistant to support my studies. Reporting for work during my break periods, arranged thousands of books, cleaned them, sorted them the dewey decimal way, served as junior librarian when the librarians were away or absent from work, errand girl, clerk, and lots of things I have loved doing and has been a part of my college life.

Lung cancer, it was the cause why my father died. I have seen him suffer from it and how painfull that sight and that memory for our family. Piercing your heart seeing him fight to live just another minute. He was too young to die, I know he was not ready to die but physically he was too weak to survive. He made everything to recover, sold our jeepneys, our house and neary everything but to no avail it did not extned his life. The cancer was way too far reaching the depths of his lungs and piercing his heart and other major organs. Looking back, he used to smoke like a rapid chain smoker, a chain smoker in every sense of the word. And I just hate the thought of this useless cigarette which took my father and left us empty.

And I'm thankfull, still for everything that happened in my life, I wouldnt be where I am now. For that Someone up there who have been sustaining me, holding my hand, supporting me and always being there every step of my way. I know without Him in my life, life wont be the same. For the people He used to bless me and to help me in my journey. " So close, I believe, You're holding me now in Your hands I belong, You'll never let me go......All along You were beside me even when I couldn't tell, and through the years You showed me more of You, more of You "

Trick ot treat with a twist......

This year is the most memorable halloween celebration we had for several years. The past celebrations were the traditional scarry ones for kids and for adults as well, with matching witches and ghosts flying all over the building and with cobwebs on evry corner. It was scarry for the small ones and the bigger ones and the adults alike. So, this year to make a difference our HR suggested for a carnival type atmosphere. Our office decided to have our balloon corner, other got their ice cream corner, others toy corner and lots of stuff that Im very sure made the kids enjoy their Halloween adventure.

The Coconuter

I was just hopping from one channel to another on a stress free cool saturday afternoon, from UST vs. ATeneo (Studio 23), to Star Talk ( Channel 7, PBA ( Channel 21) and finally something very interesting that glued me to ABS-CBN's Nagmamahal Kapamilya. The story of David Eric Poarch, give up his American dream came to the Philippines and living as what he calls himself " The modern nomad".

Its somewhat ironic, statistics showed that a lot of Filipinos have left the country for greener pastures, then here comes this very young lad who left his comforable life in the U.S in the hope of bringing back great memories of his childhood, tracing his roots and living a very simple life. Wow, its a teleserye material, its an eye opener, its simple but its complicated.

A realization that its not about the money, the luxury or the comfort anymore that matters, its about happiness and joy. There are things in life that money cant buy, and you will wake up one day a part of you is missing and realize giving all you've got just to complete you as a person could be inevitable.

How pity, only experienced his first kiss, first time to hold a girl's hand, first girlfriend and first everything in the Philippines. read more of the Coconuter....and watch his entertaining video

A few things to think about...Three

The choice you make today will usually affect tomorrow.

Take time to laugh for it is the music of the soul.

Love is strengthened by working through conflicts together.

Harsh words break no bones but they break hearts.

To get out of a difficulty , one must usually go through it.

For every one minute you are angry with someone, you lose 60 seconds of happiness that you will never get back.

Hawak Kamay......

Hawak Kamay Lyrics - Yeng Constantino

Minsan madarama mo kay bigat ng problema
Minsan mahihirapan ka at masasabing “di ko makakaya”
Tumingin ka lang sa langit
Baka sakaling may masumpungan
Di kaya ako’y tawagin
Malalaman mong kahit kailan

Chorus
Hawak-kamay
Di kita iiwan sa paglakbay
Dito sa mundong walang katiyakan
Hawak-kamay
Di kita bibitawan sa paglalakbay
Sa mundo ng kawalan

Minsan madarama mo
Ang mundo’y gumuho sa ilalim ng iyong mga paa
At ang agos ng problema’y tinatangay ka
Tumingin ka lang sa langit
Baka sakaling may masumpungan
Di kaya ako’y tawagin
Malalaman mong kahit kailan

(Chorus)

Bridge:
Wag mong sabihin nag-iisa ka
Laging isipin meron kang kasama
Narito ako oh, Narito ako…

(Chorus)

Sa mundo ng kawalan mp3
Hawak-kamay, Hawak-kamay
Sa mundo ng kawalan…

A few things to think about...Two

Everyone needs to be loved, especially when they dont deserve it.

The real measure of a man's wealth is what he has invested in eternity.

Laughter is God's sunshine.

Everything has beauty but not everyone sees it.

It's important for parents to live the same things they teach.

Thank God for what you have, trust God for what you need.

If you fill your heart with regrets of yesterday and the worries of tomorrow, you have no today to be thankful for.

Happy memories never wear out...relive them as often as you want.

Sometimes our pain becomes so great
that we despair in deep distress
we can cry to God with foolish words
that later we to Him confess. - D De Haan -

Useful Tips

THINGS YOU NEVER KNEW YOUR CELLPHONE COULD...

Just wanted to share this tips to you sent by an e friend...

There are a few things that can be done in times of grave
emergencies. Your mobile phone can actually be a life saver
or an emergency tool for survival. Check out the things that
you can do with it:
*I*
*The Emergency Number worldwide for **Mobile** is 112.* If you
find yourself out of coverage area of your mobile network and
there is an emergency, dial 112 and the mobile will search any
existing network to establish the emergency number for you, and
interestingly this number 112 can be dialed even if the keypad
is locked. **Try it out.**
*II*
*Subject: Have you locked your keys in the car? Does you car have
remote keys?*

This may come in handy someday. Good reason to own a cell phone:
If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home,
call someone at home on their cell phone from your cell phone.
Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the
person at your home press the unlock button, holding it near the
mobile phone on their end. Your car will unlock. Saves someone
from having to drive your keys to you. Distance is no object.
You could be hundreds of miles away, and if you can reach someone
who has the other "remote" for your car, you can unlock the doors
(or the trunk).

Editor's Note: *It works fine! We tried it out and it unlocked our
carover a cell phone!"*
*III*
Subject: Hidden Battery power
Imagine your cell battery is very low,you are expecting an important
call and you don't have a charger. Nokia instrument comes with a
reserve battery. To activate, press the keys *3370# Your cell will
restart with this reserve and the instrument will show a 50% increase
in battery. This reserve will get charged when you charge your cell
next time.
AND
*IV*
How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone?
To check your Mobile phone's serial number, key in the following digits
on your phone:
* # 0 6 #
A 15 digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your
handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe. when your phone get
stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They
will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the
SIM card, your phone will be totally useless.
You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever
stole it can't use/sell it either.
If everybody does this, there would be no point in people stealing mobile
phones.

Please spread this useful information around

A few things to think about..

Anger is a condition in which the tongue works faster than the mind.

You cant change the past, but you can ruin the present by worrying over the future.

Love....and you shall be loved.

God always gives His best to those who leave the choice with Him.

All people smile in the same language.

A Hug is a great gift, one size fits all. It can be given for any occasion and its easy to exchange.

My head ache partner

Woke up early this morning with a very severe head ache, its so painful I can feel my head pounding. Im glad I have my menthol cone with me, I dont take drugs for my head ache and even for my colds. This is my favorite head ache partner its only P 29.00 or $ .50. For head aches just rub it on temples and you will feel its soothing effect, for cold simply rub lightly near the nose area and you will be relieved. Its also best for insect bites.

Support network

I thought blogging was only for my sake, what I feel, what I think and anything just about me. But this morning, it touched my heart in some way. May be because like my father he has lung cancer, I realized that its a venue where we could comfort our co-bloggers and thus create this support network even if we dont know each other. I know words may not take the cancer away but, I know in someway I could be able to give a smile on his face while reading my words of encouragement.

Goodbye Mr. Crocodile Hunter

Death they say is like a theif in the night. The famous Steve Irwin died yesterday from the tail of a stingray as reported. A fearless person who chases crocodiles and snakes and was very much committed with his quest and passion for animals. Bye bye, farewell, you will always be remembered.

Farewell

We used to be frightened and scared to try
Of things we don't really understand why
We laugh for a moment and start to cry
We were crazy

Now that the end is already here
We reminisce 'bout old yells and cheers
Even if our last hurrahs were never clear

Farewell to you my friends
We'll see each other again
Don't cry 'cause it's not the end of everything
I may be miles away
But here is where my heart will stay
With you, my friends with you

Yesterday's a treasure, today is here
Tomorrows' on its way, the sky is clear
Thank you for the mem'ries of all the laughters and tears
And not to mention our doubts and our fears
The hypertension we gave to our peers
It's really funny to look back after all of these years

Farewell to you my friends
We'll see each other again
Don't cry 'cause it's not the end of everything
I may be miles away
But here is where my heart will stay
With you, my friends with you

Farewell to you my friends
We'll see each other again
Don't cry 'cause it's not the end of everything
I may be miles away
But here is where my heart will stay
With you, my friends with you
With you, my friends with only you

On Philippine Idol

Hmmmmm, missed blogging so much. well, well, i guess its a matter of motivation. Im glad I got accepted by Adsense. For the nth attempts I have made a couple of months ago, finally, I got the third chance. Wew!!! Thanks to Adsense, now I will make it a point not to make another mistake.

Philippine Idol,it took almost two months before it was aired on tv and it was something I looked forward to until the big day came. It was like watching a gag show, hehehehehe, aside from those really talented and good singrs and dancers there were those who performed very much less a Philippine idol materialjust like this one, this one , and top of the list this wacky person. Now, tell me, I hope you will agree that its just a one wacky gag show. In fairness, the show really opened my eyes taht Filipinos are really talented, it was an overflow of talent that I have seen in Philippine television.

It was considered by Adsense as invalid hits and then what! I dont know. ut, now realized it wont stop me from blogging, its hopefully a revival. Im just happy my officemate Yvonne got her PIN for her account.

If tomorrow starts without me...

If tomorrow starts without me, and I’m not there to see,
If the sun should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me;
I wish so much you wouldn’t cry the way you did today,
while thinking of the many things we didn’t get to say.
I know how much you care for me, and how much I care for you,
and each time that you think of me I know you’ll miss me too;

But when tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand,
that an angel came and called my name and took me by the hand,
and said my place was ready in heaven far above,
and that I’d have to leave behind all those I dearly love.

But as I turned to walk away, a tear fell from my eye,
for all life, I’d always thought I didn’t want to die.
I had so much to live for and so much yet to do.
it seemed almost impossible that I was leaving you.
I thought of all the love we shared and all the fun we had.
If I could relive yesterday, I thought, just for a while,
I’d say goodbye and hug you and maybe see you smile.

But then I fully realised that this could never be,
for emptiness and memories would take the place of me.
And when I thought of worldly things that I’d miss come tomorrow.
I thought of you, and when I did, my heart was filled with sorrow.

But when I walked through Heaven’s gates, I felt so much at home.
When God looked down and smiled at me, from His great golden throne,
He said, "This is eternity and all I’ve promised you,
Today your life on earth is past but here it’s starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow, but today will always last.
and since each day’s the same, there’s no longing for the past.

But you have been so faithful, so trusting, so true.
Though there were times you did some things you knew you shouldn’t do.
And you have been forgiven and now at last you’re free.
So won’t you come and take my hand and share my life with me?"

So if tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we’re far apart,
for every time you think of me, please know I’m in your heart.

PLEASE SEND THIS TO EVERYONE YOU VALUE AS A FRIEND INCLUDING THE PERSON WHO SENT IT TO YOU, TO REMIND THEM THAT YOU CARE!

Send this to those you about... becuase you never know what's going to happen tomorrow. Show them how you care before its too late.

Happiness is a choice, may God watch over you and your family now and always. There is no right time to do the wrong thing...there is no wrong time to do the right thing.

Each of you has touched my life in a very special way. I thank God for each one of you and i count it a privilege to call you a "Friend!".

God be with you!

My first crochet wedding favor....

Glass with gel candle and flowers and crochetted shades of blue color;
was made for a friend's wedding Luther and Weng, June 03, 2006. It took me more or less two months to finish all the 100 crochet covers since I was only making 3 covers a day during office days and would go 5-10 crochet covers for on my day off, and none on days I dont feel like making. Guess its a good therapy, it is something that would bring me and my patience to levels I never thought i could reach. Crochetting requires a lot of patience and I guess unconsciously I was bringing my patience at a career high. I will also be sharing photos of my other crochet products. Hope to hear comments from you.
God bless!

How to reduce stress...

1. Pray

2. Go to bed on time.

3. Get up on time so you can start the day unrushed.

4. Say No, to projects that won't fit into your time schedule, or that will compromise your mental health.

5. Delegate tasks to capable others.

6. Simplify and unclutter your life.

7. Less is more. (Although one is often not enough, two are often too many.)

8. Allow extra time to do things and to get to places.

9. Pace yourself. Spread out big changes and difficult projects over time; don't lump the hard things all together.

10. Take one day at a time.

11. Separate worries from concerns. If a situation is a concern, find out what God would have you to do and let go of the anxiety. If you can't do anything about a situation, forget it.

12. Live within your budget; don't use credit cards for ordinary purchases.

13. Have backups; an extra car key in your wallet, an extra house key buried in the garden, extra stamps, etc.,

14. K.M.S. (Keep Mouth Shut). This single piece of advice can prevent an enormous amount of trouble.

15. Do something for the Kid in You everyday.

16. Carry a Bible with you to read while waiting in line.

17. Get enough exercise.

18. Eat right.

19. Get organized so everything has its place.

20. While driving, listen to a tape that can help improve your quality of life.

21. Write thoughts and inspirations down.

22. Every day, find time to be alone.

23. Having problems? Talk to God on the spot. Try to nip small problems in the bud. Don't wait until it's time to go to bed to try and pray.

24. Make friends with Godly people.

25. Keep a folder of favorite scriptures on hand.

26. Remember that the shortest bridge between despair and hope is often a good "Thank you, Jesus!"

27. Laugh.

28. Laugh some more!

29. Take your work seriously, but yourself not at all.

30. Develop a forgiving attitude (most people are doing the best they can).

31. Be kind to unkind people (they probably need it the most).

32. Sit on your ego.

33. Talk less; listen more.

34. Slow down.

35. Remind yourself that you are not the general manager of the universe.

36. Every night before bed, think of one thing you're grateful for that you've never been grateful for before.

GOD HAS A WAY OF TURNING THINGS AROUND FOR YOU.

"If God is for us, who can be against us?" (Romans 8:31)

My instructions were to send this to four people that I wanted God to bless and I picked you. I decided to send it to more than four, because I didn't want to limit blessings.

Have A Happy Day!

The Lost Gospel

I have been curious about the Lost Gospel, I already heard about it a long time ago but have no idea whats the fuzz going around about it. But I remain fixed on what I believed and still believe about the Bible and about Jesus. I am not going to confuse myself. Of course there would be reasons behind why National Geographic exposed this kind of issue on a Palm Sunday, maybe pure coincidence or reasons they only know about.
