Recieved an empty birthday card 10 years ago....

It was one of the strangest things that I have ver expereinced 10 years ago, I recieved an empty card without anything written on it. It was a three fold colorful card, with a cute guy standing saying: may your birthday be filled with a hundred shades of happy".
It was a card that brought joy and caused confusion on my part and it was not yet solved until now, since I still didnt know who sent the card. I hope I could solve the mystery, but I guess its impossible. I just wonder why the card was sent without any information about the sender.
Have you recieved a card but didnt know who gave it? Hope we can share. have a nice day.

One week old baby found alive in a garbage can...

Its was the most bad news that I got from a news from our local television here. It was a one year old baby girl that was placed in a box and was thrown in a garbage can and was found by a beggar. At first the beggar thought that it was a cat but when he opened the box he was shocked to see a baby girl crying her heart out. I almost cried seeing that innocent helpless baby flashed on tv, it was on the news almost every afternoon and lots of couples has been touched by her story and wanted to get her for adoption. i cant imagine how the mother felt when she placed her duaghter in that box and threw her in that garbage. The baby was lucky enough to have survived, there were signs that the baby was bitten by insects already and she is still being taken cared of so that the sore will cure.

College life, What do you miss?

Hmmmm, very nice to look back to our college dyas right. Though I enjoyed my high school days more than my college days but there were certain things that was new during my college days:

I miss.....

* the hang outs in the library;I worked as a student assistant and I go there during my break time for my library duty, I miss the work, the books, the dusts, the librarians and my friends there.

* my crushes and the cute guys who hang out in the library......

* my professors, even though they were terrors but have learned to appreciate the beauty of learning and the good things that I have associated with it.

* those group studies that resulted into group eating and group talking; I guess thats the most ironic situations way back then, but it made us close together and created a bond among us.

Who is Barack Obama?

I just got curious who this Obama guy is so I searched and found this....

He was elected to the Illinois state senate in 1996. Four years later, he made an unsuccessful run for the U.S. House of Representatives. Obama won reelection to the state senate in 2002, running unopposed. As early as 2002, he was a critic of the proposed Iraq War, declaring in a television interview that he would have voted against the Iraq Resolution.[3] In 2004 he ran for an open seat in the U.S. Senate. Midway through the campaign, Obama delivered the keynote address at the 2004 Democratic National Convention and became a nationally known political figure. He was elected to the U.S. Senate in November 2004 with a landslide 70% of the vote.[4]

SERIES EVEN AS FIRED-UP GINEBRA DEALS SMB ANOTHER BEATING

Fast & Furious backcourt combo leads prolific Kings’ scoring parade

The Barangay Ginebra Kings delivered a telling message Friday evening that left the San Miguel Beermen bracing for worse.

What transpired in Game 4 was completely mind-boggling after the Kings pulled another lopsided victory – a 146-111 beating of the Beermen that evened the best-of-seven title series for the 2006-07 Talk N Text PBA Philippine Cup.

In fact, even Jong Uichico, the unassuming coach of Ginebra, said he has no explanation for his team’s fiery behavior of late.

“It’s really hard to explain… But I’m sure this has something to do with our intention to get back and tie the series,” Uichico said.

Barangay Ginebra is back in the finals.

The Kings, sans injured main man Eric Menk, reigned supreme over the Talk n Text Phone Pals for the third straight game, scoring a 98-89 victory to clinch the first slot in the Talk n Text PBA Philippine Cup finals at the Araneta Coliseum last night.

Mark Caguioa limped out of the court with leg cramps in the last 4:32 of play but the Kings never lost heart, riding on the exploits of Rudy Hatfield, Ronald Tubid and Sunday Salvacion as they beat the Pals in Game 6 of their best-of-seven semis showdown.

"It’s all about heart and character. The boys just keep on playing wherever it brings us. It brought us to the finals in this case," said Ginebra coach Jong Uichico.

"It was a hard game and we just made the run at the right time," added Uichico after leading the Kings to their 16th finals entry.

The Kings take a shot at their third All-Filipino crown against either his former team San Miguel Beer or Red Bull.

"It’s gonna be exciting. What I’m afraid of is that we’ve lost so much emotion in this series. We might not have much left for the finals," said Uichico, who gained his 10th finals stint — his first outside San Miguel.

Minus Menk and Caguioa, the trio of Hatfield, Tubid and Salvacion made it happen, combining in a decisive 15-5 run in the fourth quarter that changed the complexion of the game.

After Salvacion fired a trey to cap that attack, the Kings had seized control at 90-83 entering the last two minutes of play.

Red Bull lost its coach on technical fouls but not its fighting heart, squeezing out a 104-100 win over San Miguel Beer to force a deciding Game 7 in their own semis series.

"What comes to my mind right now is divine justice. The boys vindicated me. It’s their warrior spirit that bailed us out," said coach Yeng Guiao, who was thrown out of the game for two technical fouls in an incident triggered by his collision with San Miguel shooter Dondon Hontiveros in front of the Red Bull bench.

"I don’t know why I was given two technical fouls. Dondon bumped into me, I protected myself then he did a good acting job. The San Miguel bench rushed at us. So I don’t understood why I was given two technical fouls," Guiao pointed out.

Water rafting adventure

Rafting is a recreational activity utilizing a raft to navigate a river or other bodies of water. This is usually done on whitewater or different degrees of rough water, in order to thrill and excite the raft passengers. The development of this activity as a leisure sport has become popular since the mid 1970's.

The type of raft used nowadays for recreational rafting is almost exclusively an inflatable boat. It consists of very durable, multi-layered rubberized fabrics with several independent air chambers. Its length varies between 3.5 m (11 ft) and 6 m (20 ft), the width between 1.8 m (6 ft) and 2.5 m (8 ft). Rafts come in a few different forms. In Europe the most common is the symmetrical raft steered with a paddle at the stern. Other types are the asymmetrical, rudder-controlled raft and the symmetrical raft with central helm (oars). Rafts are usually propelled with ordinary paddles and typically hold 4 to 12 persons.

Finally, I have experienced the water rafting adventure and I will still want for more. The 12 kilometer 14 rapid four hour run was not enough for me. Wow! amazing. It was a dream come true, I was a stranger to my own city, lots of tourists have explored the rivers ahead of me when I'm from this city, but now im a stranger no more. It was a real breath taking, mind blowing, heart stopping experince. I didnt want it to stop, every rapid was anticipated with excitement and every still water was a bore.

It was great that we were assigned to a wonderful river guide Val , he was energetic, lively and adventureous. We were the sweeper team; meaning we were the last team of the run, we were to rescue other rafters if their rafts would topple down or rescue if someone would fall from their rafts. Wow, Val would always remind us that our shouts were louder than the rapids and even louder than our paddles, after every rapid Val would shout high five! and we all raise our paddles for the cheer and other rafters ahead of us would turn at us and watch with envious faces.hehehehehe...It was a note that we were indded enjoying the adventure a whole lot!!!!

When the 11th rapid came, I wanted to go back, i never wanted the run to end or even the day to end, it was so sad that really we will reach the finish line.

After the 14th rapid, well, all is well that ends well.
The 4 hours run was really not enough, I still
long for more, may be I will try the Advanced level next time.

On still waters, resting after shouting after every rapid.
Breath taking!

The human chain: we helped each other to reach the other side of the river cave.

After the human chain to get back to the mouth of the cave
one should float and go with the rapid.... wew it was a scarry one.

resting after we toppled our raft up side down
its a one kilometer still water 30 feet deep, yikes!
