Its not the words we pray matter...

its the condition of the heart.....
I had the chance to play the guitar today, I loved to play the good old songs I learned when i was in college and remembered the days when I first played it with so much passion that I learned to play it all by myself with the help of a chord chart and the overly motivating side comments of my mother, thanks to her I was motivated to learn a few chords to start my first song " Ang Huling Elmbimbo " by the eraser heads. Im a eheads fan, I loved their songs and many songs followed after that first song I learned.
Then, after playing a couple of songs, I felt pain with my left fingers, they were red and sure was not that used to playing the guitar that long. I enjoyed the music and went on with work. Then, the same fingers I use to pray for others.
When we fold our hands, the thumb is nearest us. So we begin by praying for those closest to us- our loved ones. ( Philippians 1:3-5)
The index finger is the pointer. We pray for those who teach- Bible teachers and preachers and those who teahc children ( 1 Thessalonians 5:25).
The next finger is the tallest. It reminds us to pray for those in authority over us- national and local leaders and our supervisor at work ( 1 timothy 2:1-2).
The fourth finger is usually the weakest. Pray for those who are in trouble or who are suffering ( James 5:13-16)
Then comes our little finger. It reminds us of ou smallness in relation to God's greatness. Ask Him to supply our needs ( Philippians 4:6,19).
Its was a reminder, those bruised fingers, its the best gift we can give to others, its something that money cant buy. When we pray for people we care about, even though they are far from us, miles away or have not seen them in years, it seems that we never really were apart from them for they are always remembered in our prayers.

Careless thinking.....
Im a careless person, Often, I do a lot of things that i should not do and more often I also fail to do the things that I ought to do. Like, Leaving my room key inside my room and ended up destroying the window just to get inside the room, which injured my right arm.Well, its a win lose situation when we dont think carefully or act carefully, its always the same, even with words not thought of carefully could hurt or injure the hearts of other people. I always end up regretting things said because of no careful thinking, I hurt a friend many times because of tactlessness. I was also a victim of such carelessness. I got hurt so bad by someone a year ago, he accused me something that he said. it was so painfull I cant forget the very words he said. I have forgivien him but not yet forgotten. These wrong actions or irresponsible inactions can minor inconveniences or they can have serious lasting consequences.
Regrets, wrong words spoken, wrong actions and even not doing the right thing could mean a lot. God wants us to give careful thinking to our actions, words, and make decisions that bring glory to Him.
let us think about whats good
what's right and pure and true;
may God's word control our thoughts
in everything we do. - Fitshugh-

As constant as the sun...

I love rainy days specially when it rains at night, I consider it a treat when im about to sleep and then it rains hard, wow, I just hope it wont stop. Oh, how I love to listen to the rhythym of the falling rain, it brings back wonderful rainy memories. As the song goes "listen to the rhythym of the falling rain, telling me just a fool Ive been, I wish that I could go and let me cry in vain, and let me be alone again". I guess we all have unique and wonderful rain stories
I also love sunrise, its one of the best scenes that Im really excited about, willing to wait at from dawn till I see those rays of sunlight slowly revealing itself like a live painting changing before my very eyes. Its like God's constant love, though there maybe clouding skies but we know that God is always there to give that warmth in our lives that he only can give, His warmth could only satisfy. There's this romantic song "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me appy when skies are gray, you never know dear how much I love, please dont take my sunshine away". And Im certain we also have unique sunshine stories.
Because God's goodness is as constant as the sun, we are in danger of forgetting what he showers on us each day. If we count our blessings one by one, we'll never get finished.

Too bad we cant crack tomorrow open...

I think so much about tomorrow, its something I think much about and end up wondering what tomorrow would be. im just reminded of the song quesera quesara, "what will be will be, the future's not ours to see quesera, quesera, what will be will be". Of course, i dream of a wonderful tomorrow, but how will we know when tomorrow never comes, hehehehe, that then reminds me of a James Bond movie ( its hard to hide my love for Pierce Brosnan). Sigh! Often times, i end up daydreaming, ah tomorrow would be like this and like that and oh my list could go on and on and on until infinity but well, then we cant crack tomorrow open. Its full of surprises, its full of colors we cant imagine or it could then be colorless or no surprise at all.
Its like opening a partly cooked egg, we will spoil it if we try to see how they doing while we cook them, like our lives if we try to meddle tomorrow we would spoil today and tomorrow. All we can do is leave this to God, linger on His promise that he will care for us everyday and live by faith one day at a time. Tomorrow is just a sleep away and that we surrender to God our issues and allow Him to take over. I remind myself always, and thank God how wonderful the plans he have for me and for all of us. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us that " For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." A wonderful promise that I dont have to worry anything God is interested with my issues and I just have to leae everything to Him. Thats why I just try to compose myself and think about the wonderful promises when fear and worry attack me.

Let not the flood waters overflow me

Let not the flood waters over flow me, nor the deep swallow me up. Psalm 69:15
It was my cry for help, I thought it was the end of everything. A life threatening experience, all I saw were happy moments in my life flashed like movie in seconds and I remembered the river guides warning swim in one direction if trapped under the rubber boat. Idid with all my might, frantically swam towards the right and reached the top and praised God for another chance. It was a joyful moment, with all the shouting and cheering enjoying the rafting experience and split second I was there under the rubber boat struggling to survive. I dont know how to swim but the life jacket was an assurance that I wont drown.
Im in trouble.
And now im in deep water, reaching up grabbing God's hands for mercy. Its stupidity that brought me in this state and godly wisdom to save me from this complex im in. Im trapped. And like a rat lost in a maze Im sniffing my way out, thinking that enough motivation can bring me to where the reward is and the reward of finding the way out is my only refuge. God is my refuge in times of trouble, and in the time of trouble He shall set me high upon a rock. I feel alone, lonely and hurting but I know God will always be there to guarantee His support.
When trouble over takes, let God take over!

While Im Waiting
I'm waiting
I'm waiting on You, Lord
And I am hopeful
I'm waiting on You, Lord
Though it is painful
But patiently, I will wait
I will move ahead, bold and confident
Takeing every step in obedience
While I'm waiting
I will serve You
While I'm waiting
I will worship
While I'm waiting
I will not faint
I'll be running the race
Even while I wait
I'm waiting
I'm waiting on You, Lord
And I am peaceful
I'm waiting on You, Lord
Though it's not easy
But faithfully, I will wait
Yes, I will wait
I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve you while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting on You, Lord

Dance of Life
There were two hearts who met in a dance. That moment was magical. There was sweet song playing, there was harmony and then soon there was love in the air. they fell in love and started building castles in their dremas and promised forever with all eternity. But somewhere in the midst of the fun they got lost in the dance, something went wrong but they can never do anything, they were just drifting away, their fortress falling apart. there many questions but no got an answer.
The music stopped and there was silence.
When we truly love someone, we give our best and let the person see the pureness of our intention. Sometimes that person makes us cry and hurts us for the wrong reason. That someone must have loved us but has not loved us enough to make her/him stand for what she/he truly felt.
Now we are faced with with the seemingly impossible task of forgetting, we have burdened ourselves long enough but we cant still get out of the emotional trap. Let us remember that the more we try to forget someone we love, the more painfull letting go will become.
Simetimes we never have to take that person out of our hearts at all, for he/she will always be there no matter how hard we try to drive him/her away. It isnt this presence that makes this difficult. its our stubborness to accept our destiny that aligns forgetting next to impossible. We keep a cold face ut deep in our hearts, there is still that lingering hope for reconciliation. Somehow we still believe that we can rekindle small embers and relight the fire that once burned in our hearts. These thoughts give us hope but it also breeds the seeds of loneliness and despair.
The only way to forget is to accept that the only way to move on is to look ahead and let the foot prints of the past be blown by the wind of time. Only then can our hearts find a partner in the dance of life and hopefully never be lost again.

I have Fallen In Love
Lyrics By Ninoy Aquino
Music by Jose Mari Chan
For Cory Aquino
I have fallen in love
With the same woman three times
In a day spanning nineteen years
Of tearful joys and joyful tears.
I loved her first when she was young
Enchanting and vibrant, eternally new
She was brilliant, fragrant and cool as the morning dew
I fell in love with her the second time
When first she bore her child and mine
She's always by my side, the source of my strength
Helping to turn the tide…
I fell in love again with the same woman the third time
Looming from the battle her courage will never fade.
Amidst the hardships she has remained
Undaunted and unafraid
She is calm and composed. She is God's lovely maid.

Thank You
Just a little while longer I wanna pray
Can't get You off my mind so I came to say
Thank You Lord just for loving me
Many times as I do forget
Every need that You have met
Oh thank You Lord, I know You're showing me
You are there when I am down and out
You're holding me, Your love is so amazing
Oh it changed me
Chorus:
Here I am with all I am
Raise my hands to worship You
I wanna say thank you, oh thank you
For everything, for who You are
You cover me, You touch my heart
I wanna say thank you
I could have died in my sin but You saved me
Didn't have any hope at all
You gave me peace divine, strength to carry on
I should have been the one to pay
But instead You took my place
My Jesus, words cannot explain
Even though I don't deserve Your love for me
You look beyond my fault and You showed mercy
CHORUS
I wanna say thank you for the sun
I wanna say thank you for the rain
Everything You do is beautiful
I'm so grateful for Your love

Echoes of our hearts....

Echoes of Our Hearts
Author Unknown
Sometimes we close our eyes and just listen to the echoes of our hearts. We all fall in love and there are times when we love so much that we lose ourselves in our emotions. More often than not, we wonder why there are love that grows, and love that grows cold. We would start to search for answers and try to find where love has gone wrong. But in the end, we find ourselves where we started for we cannot question love when it has its own reasons. Love will always be as it always has been....silent, mysterious and deeply profound.
Many of us believe that love is forever, that love never dies, only to be disillusioned in the end when we find our hands empty and our hearts longing. We mistakenly have looked at love as a need to be fulfilled. But love is a gift given to us. We should not hold it in our hands for we may never find the strength to let it go when it decides to leave. We should only embrace its warmth and glow while it last and then freely open our arms when its time to say good-bye.When we fall in love, we don't want that feeling to end for it is everything we are, everything we wanted to be. We pray that love will stay and grow in our hearts. But if it doesn't then we should never let our lives be taken by it, for life should not end where heartaches begin.
There is always a reason why we have to move on. When we have to say good-bye to the feeling we wanted to stay forever, let us not wave our hands with a heavy heart. For love will have to set its wings free and find the place where it belongs. We may have lost it but then again, when we close our eyes and listen to the echoes of our hearts, we will hear that feeling resounding silently forever.
Then we'll know that love never left us, for the good that we have become because of love will always stay. Love will always be there, reminding us that we should be thankful and happy not because we have lost love, but because, for once in our lives, that feeling called love lived in our hearts and made us happy.

Time with friends....
Got home from dinner with my best friends Judith and Cristy. We've known each other more than half our lifetimes, we were classmates since sixth grade and we've shared lots of memories together. Judith joined me in IIT for two and then transferred to XU and joined Cristy and finished her studies there. Cristy is my officemate since 1999 and we are now in the same department.
Its nice to have this private time, Cristy and me spend the whole with work while Judith is busy with her business and three kids.
The food was great, it was Judith's treat, theres T-bone steak, barbecue, and siszzling sisig and my all time paborito blueberry cheese cake. Wow, I just love blueberry cheesecakes. I realized we were not getting any younger, I felt young but realized that hey, Im not getting any younger but of course I wont force myself to situations the way Judith shared her struggles with family , business and marriage. It was serious stuff but I know she's strong and she can manage everything, all I can do is share my prayers for her and her family.
Lesson learned, Ill have to enjoy the time while Im single coz theres really a lot that instore ahead and I dont know if im ready to face all thats going to come when I reach that time in my life. Theres a lot of responsibility, and it takes a mature person to endure it, with all the adjustments to do and the buzz of marriage. Id rather enjoy the meal than think of things that would scare me even just the thought of it.

Sleepy on a rainy day saturday!
Woke up very early today went to the market bought bangus and bananas for breakfast, I feel sleepy with the weather and while cooking I was thinking of bed and sleeping. Multi tasked, cooking and washing the clothes at the same time ( its always a saturday habit of mine). Woke the people for breakfast at about 6:30 in the morning I just ate a piece of banana and darnk hot choco, its just hard to eat when you are the one cooking, I just thought the daing na bangus just made the art of frying more easy, nothing fancy but the smell was just a meal in itself. Hanged the clothes and off to bed I went, wow, it rained again and I hope it wont stop
Its 9am and im all sleepy, my looking like garfield's eyes dreamy and wanting to sleep more.
I dont know if I slept very late last night, dindt know whats the time when I just lay there unable to sleep, wanting to sleep with eyes closed but mind is drifting to oblivion. The blueberry cheesecake I ate for dinner lingered on my mind luke super glue, with the sweet sour mango shake. Even now im sleepy but just cant sleep so I surfed the internet instead, facebook, read the news and was just frustrated with the sports news, Ginebra lost last night. Wow! Im just glad I went out last night and did not witness the bitter loss of my team. It hurts but I have to move on the beermen won, didnt have the inetrest to read that column.
Sleepy, sleepy....I have to prepare for my trip to el salvador and after my trip to Iligan for the Leaders Bible Study with the youth in Marawi and Iligan city and thats another tiring trip, Im not really fond of trips, I hate the smell of the bus and the not so nice men passengers (I had a not so nice experience before, so that explains why I prefer sharing the seat with a woman than with a man). I also dont like travelling alone, I love travelling and talking with someone but the seatmates are sleepers as well so often I end up sleeping or watching the dvd of the driver.

Love is for Losers?
"You can learn a lot about a person by what his or her T-shirt says. Recently, one of these messages caught my attention as I walked through a local shopping mall. A young woman wore a bright red T-shirt that said, "Love Is for Losers." Maybe she thought it was clever or provocative, even funny. Or perhaps she had been hurt by a relationship and had pulled away from others rather than risk being hurt again. Either way, the T-shirt got me thinking."
Is love for losers? The fact is, when we love, we take risks. People could very well hurt us, disappoint us, or even leave us. Love can lead to loss.
The Bible, though, challenges us to higher ground in loving others. In 1 Corinthians 13, Paul describes what it means to live out God"s kind of love. The person who exercises godly love doesn"t do so for personal benefit or gain but rather "bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things" (13:7). Why? Because godly love endures beyond life"s hurts by pulling us relentlessly toward the never-diminishing care of the Father.
So, perhaps love is for losers"-for it is in times of loss and disappointment that we need God the most. Even in our struggles, we know that "love never fails." — Bill Crowder
Unfailing is God"s matchless love,
So kind, so pure, so true;
And those who draw upon that love
Show love in what they do. "-D. De Haan

Blah blahs and a lot more
Its a wierd afternoon, after the rocky road ice cream, someone gave us a pot of yummy lomi soup which left the ice cream to melt and was forgotten. The soup was perfect to match the heavy rain pouring outside, I have do double time balancing the cash and checks and all for 5:30 is the schedule of our union meeting.
It took so much time since i have to figure out the checks, my report didnt match and have to do a whole two page review to find the problem, things really happen when we have other things in mind and making it more unbearable and making me impatientl as well.
Im a no to union individual but unfortunately the Yes to union people won and I have no choice but to be a part of that union they created to bargain and ask for more benefit and what other demands they have in mind. Its such a wierd day, with the heavy rain and the not so pleasant stare of the pro-union group after the questions that I have raised. I thought of the hot lomi that I did not enjoy eating coz I was i a hurry to that union thing, I could have stayed and enjoyed the comforting lomi soup.
I just didnt like the meeting, everything about it and hurriedly went to our highschool friend's house (another food indulging activity, since its her birthday). And after the stress and the not so good stares, Im just glad that I escaped it and enjoy the yummy food prepared. Wow, beef in cream sauce, lechon kawali, stuffed shrimp (im allergic with shrimps but how can I not eat), casava cake, strawberry cheesecake...it was a therapy, all bad vibes just faded away and fogotten. Wait, there was still macaroni salad but I was to full to even taste it. We went home with smiles and all revived by the stomach filling experience.
When I reached home the noise of the bands jamming on the ACSAT gym infront of our house. The band performers were just as annoying as they can be, it was not music but noise to my ears. How, can I sleep then with all the shouting and incomprehensible lyrics and a singing style I didnt know ever existed, ( it was like a devil shouting, the high volume that I was afraid the singers would have throat cancer after their singing or shouting spree, hehehehe). They finished at around 1:30 and now im back to the solemn environment conducive to sleeping.
It was a food filled day and tomorrow is a saturday, its now 2:03 am and have to wake up very early in the morning for im the breakfast cook.
God bless us all!

Its been days that craved for durian ice cream.I miss the energy giving scent of durian but the durian ice cream will suffice. Our manager granted our wish and gave us an ice cream treat. We asked our helpmat to buy ice cream for us. I waited patiently with good imagination of how to eat the ice cream. When itcame it was not durian ice cream but rocky road instead. It was good than having nothing but it would have been great if it was durian flavor.
My insight its that God uses people to grant our wishes but often times its really not what exactly what we craved for or hope for . While we were eating my officemate said that she wanted durian and she does not like the rocky road that much. I told her that its better than not having any ice cream at all. Its to appreciate what we have and thank God for the what we have than wishing for whats missing.
happy week end!

Words to Remember

1. What's at the center of our attention is what has us. Whatever we give our attention to either to make or break us.
2. God loves us enough to accept us as we , but He loves us too much to leave us that way.
3. Nothing is so relevant as the eternal.
4. Attack problems, not people.
5. To change, we must want something else more than what we now have. Scriptures say we will find the Lord only when we look for Him with all our heart (Jeremiah 29:13)
6. Live for what you will not regret when you die. "What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his life? (Matthew 16:26).
7. The secret of abundance is found in what we have, but in what we enjoy (or thankful for).
8. Fear God - not to run from Him, but to Him.
9. We can learn more from our critics than our admirers. Some tell us how wonderful we are. Others tell us the truth.
10. "When Im the presence of God, it seems profoundly unbecoming to demand anything".

Back to an old template

Spent half day on the net, at first template surfing and then ended up watching Go Junpyo instead.(hehehe, He is so handsome and with those eyes that as if were looking at me, imagining I was Geum Jandi...hay!But in fairness I like Jihoo to be paired with Geum Jandi than Go Junpyo).
I got bored with the previous template and now I ended up using this old one I used before. Start all over again since I lost all the changes that I made and all the widgets and I I know its going to take me so much time and effort. I missed posting here, 3 weddings I joined, the servant leaders training and a lot more to blog about.(This would require much more time and a lot of memory recalling).I got busy with customer service work with papers here and there, but nothing that I cant handle well.
Im trying to figure out if I was able to save the html codes, and I remember I lost them when the laptop just decided to turn off on its own (which means, another nerve damaging situation that I have to endure).
Well, all is well that ends well and I will have to try again tomorrow for another blogging adventure.

If Tomorrow Starts Without Me
Author believed to be
David Romano
When tomorrow starts without me,
And I'm not there to see,
If the sun should rise and find your eyes
all filled with tears for me,
I wish so much you wouldn't cry
The way you did today,
While thinking of the many things,
We didn't get to say.
I know how much you love me,
As much as I love you,
and each time that you think of me,
I know you'll miss me too.
But when tomorrow starts without me,
Please try to understand,
That an angel came and called my name,
And took me by the hand,
and said my place was ready,
In heaven far above,
And that I'd have to leave behind
All those I dearly love.
But as I turned to walk away,
A tear fell from my eye
For all my life, I'd always thought,
I didn't want to die.
I had so much to live for,
So much left yet to do,
It seemed almost impossible,
That I was leaving you.
I thought of all the yesterdays
The good ones and the bad,
I thought of all the love we shared,
and all the fun we had
If I could re-live yesterday
Just even for a while,
I'd say good-bye and kiss you
And maybe see you smile.
But then I fully realized,
That this could never be,
For emptiness and memories,
would take the place of me.
And when I thought of worldly things,
I might miss come tomorrow,
I thought of you, and when I did,
My heart was filled with sorrow.
But when I walked through heaven's gates,
I felt so much at home
When God looked down and smiled at me,
From His great golden throne.
He said, "This is eternity,
And all I've promised you."
Today your life on earth is past,
But here life starts anew
I promise no tomorrow,
But today will always last,
And since each day's the same way
There's no longing for the past.
You have been so faithful,
So trusting and so true.
Though there were times
You did some things
You knew you shouldn't do.
But you have been forgiven
And now at last you're free.
So won't you come and take my hand
And share my life with me?
So when tomorrow starts without me,
Don't think we're far apart,
For every time you think of me,
I'm right here, in your heart.

Decapod, word of the month
Dapitan Medical Mission Part 1
It was last year that I last joined the medical mission of the CDO LifeLine Ministries Inc. headed by Dr. Sedigo, I waited eagerly for May 16, and at 11 pm we started our trip to Dapitan for the mission. Its Truly inspiring to see doctors unite for a common good and its all about service, helping the less fortunate giving them time and the medical attention that they could not afford. It was my first time going to that part of the Philippines and though the trip was long, I enjoyed the sleep on the bus with the group of doctors, nurses and volunteers like me.
It was a long logn trip but somehow, God refreshed us through th welcome of the rain as we touched the safe grounds of Potunga
n High School, a remote area where the hospital is is just a luxury to the people living there. The patients were waiting and it a while for the team to set up the areas because of the rain, thanks to the help of the men in uniform who helped us carry the boxes of medicines to the respective classrooms.
I am recharged with so much joy in my heart, that I was one of those who shared the gospel to the patients before the check-up and treatment, angels celebrated in heaven as they welcomed the souls that have received Christ as their Lord and saviour. Tears of joy fell from those eyes who have searched for that only One person who could fill the emptiness in their hearts, maybe along their search in their lives they thought it was something but it was someone and it was Jesus all along who could fill that up, and I cried silence, tears of joy also filled my eyes as I prayed for these bretheren who have opened up their hearts for Christ to rule and be the Lord of their lives.

Two eyes and just one tongue....

which means we need to look twice and talk once.We have two ears and just one mouth, so we need to listen more than we talk. We have two hands and one stomach, so we need to work twice as much as work twice as much as we eat. We have two major brain parts, the left and the right and one heart,so we can think twice, but only love one. Isnt it amazing how our body parts remind us how to live right?

Our school won!
Im proud to say that our team in college won the debate and they are one step nearer to represent the country outside.
"In a stunning upset, Mindanao State University - Iligan Institute of Technology, neophyte Square Off participants, knocked out University of the Philippines - Diliman in this week's Square Off: Frankahan - The Drilon Debates. Arguing against the motion that government agencies should be mandated to employ displaced OFW's, the all-girl team of Iligan was unanimously voted to make it into the quarterfinals."

Its time to clear clutter from my heart....

Our hearts and mind accumulate lots of clutter. As we rub shoulders with the world we inevitably and even unknowingly pick up ungodly thoughts and attitudes along the way. I know along the way I must have grieved the heart of God throught the things i say, the things i hvae done and things i have thought about. I hope I can make this a spiritual work day and the days onward to clean and discard thoughts of bitterness, thoughts of rebelion and revenge and put damaging memories in place. I can organize my attitudes and fill my heart with the virtues in God's word- making my spiritual residence clean as I confess to God my sins and He will purify me once again.

Find Me
The skies are not as blue, when you're not with me
The stars, they never seem to shine as bright
And the hours crack like days across the ages
And a year or two pass by with every night.
It makes me know if i should ever leave this world before you do
When you follow you must promise, cross your heart and promise to
(Chorus)
Find me...look hard, and dont stop, I'll be waiting 'till then
Dont sleep, and dont eat 'till I'm back, back in your arms again
I dont wanna have to spend all my forever without you.
Just knowing that your out there somewhere too.
So darlin...please I'm begging you on bended knee...
Find me...
I've tried to tell this world how much i love you.
But they dont understand how deep it goes.
And i can't even find the words to tell you
So I'm the only one who really knows.
And though we have our times together, I am always wanting more
So if we get separated wont you do just like before and
(Chorus 2)
Find me...look hard and dont stop, I'll be waiting 'till then
Dont sleep, and dont eat 'till I'm back, back in your arms again
Through a hundred million faces you will see me shinning through.
'Cause I'll glow when you come close , I always do.
So darlin' please im begging you on bended knee..
We can share our love through all eternity
'Cause with you is all i ever wanna be......

You have seen my heart oh Lord
so much noise going on inside
full of unwanted emotions
full of things that i have to let go
i have heard it screaming
Now i lift my heart to you
to decide to give it to you alone
hear each beat of my heart
and snatch me away from the web of the
decietful ways of the enemy.
I turn my eyes on You
and hope not to fall into the enemy's trap once again.
Never be fooled' again by false's love sweet promises.
never be entangled again by its decietful ways.

I cry out....

Job 31:20
I cry out to you, but you do not answer.
I stand up but you merely look at me.
Thoughts: I understand dear Lord that there are times in my life that you just watch me. There are times that you are silent in my life(may be i was too busy with the world that I cant seem to hear you), making me feel that pain is inevitable in this life. Many times I have broken your heart, and i have cried out to You and only feel Your presence guiding me, wiping my tears away, embracing me in Your love, and in the shelter of your wings I hide.I am sorry if many times I have failed You and with emotions and thoughts in my heart and mind, but I know You wait on me calling me through Your still small voice reminding me to go on. Thank You Lord that with Your word in my heart our relationship deepens into an intimate relationship that will make all clear to me. I thank you for being there always.

The parable of the pencil

The Pencil Maker took the pencil aside, just before putting him into the box.
"There are 5 things you need to know," he told the pencil, "Before I send you out into the world. Always remember them and never forget, and you will become the best pencil you can be."
"One: You will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself to be held in Someone's hand."
"Two: You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, but you'll need it to become a better pencil."
"Three: You will be able to correct any mistakes you might make."
"Four: The most important part of you will always be what's inside."
"And Five: On every surface you are used on, you must leave your mark. No matter what the condition, you must continue to write."
The pencil understood and promised to remember, and went into the box with purpose in its heart.
Now replacing the place of the pencil with you. Always remember them and never forget, and you will become the best person you can be.
One: You will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself to be held in God's hand. And allow other human beings to access you for the many gifts you possess.
Two: You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, by going through various problems in life, but you'll need it to become a stronger person.
Three: You will be able to correct any mistakes you might make.
Four: The most important part of you will always be what's on the inside.
And Five: On every surface you walk through, you must leave your mark. No matter what the situation, you must continue to do your duties.
Allow this parable on the pencil to encourage you to know that you are a special person and only you can fulfill the purpose to which you were born to accomplish.
Never allow yourself to get discouraged and think that your life is insignificant and cannot make a change.

My Last Day of my First Trip to Kalipay
“We gave joy and found it in abundance”
By Gary Idulza
A Psalm of David keep ringing in my ear, it was a verse of chapter 86 of Psalms and it says “Bring joy to your servant, for to you, O Lord, I lift up my soul”. We are that joy to our Higaonon Brethren and them to us, for if we only let God use us, we would indeed be a blessing. As we were on this trip, we were as of living through the words of Psalms 86. That gave me comfort and security through heavy rain, slippery paths, cold nights, muddy terrain, doubt, despair and the ever present danger of death.
Waking up in the stillness of the night, as everybody seems to be asleep. I praised God and gave thanks to Him, how wonderful it is to be a servant serving others that cannot give anything in return. They could only impart their shelter and their joy; they could only ask God on what might be our need. At the break of day, Brother Boy Sin-ingans’ house turned into a beehive of activity, the ladies were already busy in the kitchen fixing breakfast for us; all three dozen of us and by no means was an easy feat to do.
We gathered around for the early news coming from the project site and what good news it was. As early as 4 hours past midnight, as was the instruction to start the operation of the catchment’s basin, they are now using it as planned. As water flowed out of the pipeline from the catchment’s basin, they now used the water for drinking and for gardening purposes. When everybody heard about it, praises and thanks broke the stillness silence of the morning at Kalipay.
Breakfast came and gone and now we prepared for the early Sunday fellowship that will be held at Brother Boy Sin-ingan’s house. We as adventurous as ever decided to bathe at a nearby catchment’s basin, which was way down the steep and slippery slope of Kalipay Proper. As the start of the fellowship got nearer, more and more people are now coming to Brother Boy’s house. Some of our brethren came as far as from Bukbokon, a place on the mountains of Butuan City. A good two hours plus by bus from were we are now, but they didn’t even rode any vehicle; they just walk more than four hours of mountain path on a rugged and steep terrain. What commitment have these brethren of ours that they where on time for the 8 a.m. Sunday fellowship. I felt ashamed of myself that I often go late for fellowship, these brethren walk farther than my house to our fellowship center at Cagayan de Oro City. When the fellowship started, everybody was shoulder to shoulder singing praises and worship our God Almighty. We further strengthened each other by the quoting verses from the Bible and exhorting fellow brethren that the things we do are all for God’s glory and the furtherance of his Kingdom. There was also one surprise that was in store for us, the official public head of Kalipay donated a lot for the building of a Ministry church at the barangay’s proper. Praise God! Everybody was delighted by the news.
We then packed our things,
blessed everyone and be blessed also by them, and then off we go back to Cagayan de Oro City our home. The Trip was for me a memory of a lifetime, it seems that I learned more of life and how I should be thankful of the blessing I have now, and be content of it. Serving others as Jesus Christ served us took a new perspective of life for me. Having tasted God’s presence amongst our Higaonon brethrens, I should impart the lessons learned in this trip to my self and others so that they may see that serving is the way to be.

My First Kalipay Trip (Day 2)
My First Kalipay Trip (Day 2)
“I’m weak and spent but the Lord sustains me, Therefore I move on, all for God’s Glory”
My personal reflection on the trip
By Gary Idulza
Up in the mountains, it never crossed my mind that the “cold mountain air of Gingoog City can sting”. It stung me, waking up an hour earlier before the struck of midnight. For a moment I thought I was sleeping inside a huge freezer, I frantically rubbed my hands on my feet and arms. Then I scrambled for my backpack and insulated myself with more thick clothes. By now the winds were chilling and howling, it was a good thing for us that we slept in a house with four walls. Not so with some of our colleagues from Iligan City and province of Iloilo. They slept in the traditional houses of the Higaonons, where there are no walls and only a roof and elevated flooring. Everybody had a good night 10+ hours of sleep, even me. The sleep we took refreshed our body and now was the time that we must refresh our spirit with the Word of God.
Due to the lack of light (there’s no electricity for miles from us) some proceeded to boiling the water for a hot refreshing coffee for our numb body. We groped a bit in the dark doing our chores and the flashlight from our cell phones were the only source of light besides the occasional lights made by the fireflies patrolling the area. At the break of dawn, I fetched water for cooking and washing dishes. As everybody gathered around and there was enough light to read the letters of our Bibles. Kuya Bernie, our Senior Pastor let me read a chapter in Psalms. As we heard and “digested” the Word of God, it reminded us that we are here to serve our brethren, and that all things belong to the One who created all things, we are just stewards, Ate Babes also added insights on what we heard. Then everybody prayed to God for fair weather the rest of the day. By now we were going to continue building the catchments’ basin, but first we have to eat our breakfast meal and of boiled eggs and home maid stew. We also gave some to our neighboring families there. But as it turned out they also cooked extra sweet potatoes for us and we were much delighted by the offer.

The sands that was carried days earlier were way to few; so we gathered sands in the vicinity of the nearest waterfalls from our site, which we traversed coming to the site. Kuya Bernie led some of us to gather more sands and we made several trips through occasionally muddy and wet trail to amass enough sands for our project. We often stop ones in every trip up to our site to catch our breath, for the wet sands were bearably heavy though one of us did carry a half full sack of sands (it’s not me!) every trip we took. There were two little kids that took turns on escorting us every trip carrying, sometimes carrying the spade used to pile up the sands near the waterfalls (talk about child labor). Almost often I only hear my heavy breathing but as I stop to catch my breath I would occasionally hear these kids singing. During the last trip of gathering the sands, as we stopped to catch our breath, we heard burst of gunfire not too far from the trail. It seemed that it was just only a mound above us, and we discussed what it was, who fired it and how near it was. One of us jokingly said that it was just a carpenter banging a piece galvanized iron sheet for roofing, but we were determined to finish our project and no amount of gunfire will hinder our resolve. When we entered the project site, it was already abuzz with what the gunfire might be. And our fellow Higaonon brethrens were already coming in with the rest of the hollowed blocks and cements that was not carried yesterday. By now the sun was nearing its zenith and so was our belly ready for lunch. Our meal was made out of fresh produce from the garden below, steaming hot rice and dried fish (yummy!!!).
We then continued on the project which was nearing completion
due to the fair weather, excellent camaraderie and Providence. Sometimes we got distracted from our work by the occasional passing of people carrying big fruits from their own farms, some carried marang (a kind of fruit in between a jackfruit and durian). Wendy and Hazel (our cooks) took turns on taking pictures for the documentary ands eavesdropping ones in a while on our work if it is already finished. Everybody in the area surrounding the project was already anticipating the finish and is eagerly excited that there is now a catchments’ basin for their drinking water and watering their gardens. We finished our work at around four in the afternoon, and then pack our bags for our homeward journey.
Close to three dozen people were mobilized to help in the construction of the catchments’ basin, this project ones the water starts to flow would help Higaonon brethrens living and farming within the vicinity of the project. Everybody helped, even little kids collected stones for the project. The women cooked, washed dishes and clothes and even collected vegetables from their gardens for our meals, that is not to include that they did carry considerable materials for the project when we first went up to the mountain site. Everybody was elated when we announced that the project is already finished and joy was very evident in everybody’s faces. God’s mighty hand was upon us every step of the way; As Kuya Bernie always points out to us “God’s work done in God’s way will never lack anything”. Amen to that. Even the bursts of gunfire that we heard a while ago were just a thing of the pass. Sweat and mud did not hamper our spirits for in our hearts God’s faithfulness was aflame.
After the last instruction was given to Datu Basa, we then proceeded to go down
from the site to Purok 6 of Barangay Kalipay. Along the way we were chased by a sudden downpour of rain. And it took us just a little over and hour to get back to Brother Boy Sin-ingan’s home, which was our first stop at Barangay Kalipay. Everyone was amazed that it only took us half the time to get down the mountain than to go up it. As night was fast approaching we cooked for thirty plus people with only three small cans of sardines, a handful of aubergines and the ever reliable dried fish. The meal we prepared was just the right amount, everybody’s tummy were full and even a little left over. What a miracle!!!
As everybody settled for the night we chatted on the events that transpired earlier we found out that those bursts of gunfire was a salute to militia that was laid to rest there at the top of the mountain where we were earlier in the day. Brother Boy Sin-ingan’s home was jam-packed with warm bodies as we crammed our selves to sleep. Brother Jun of Iloilo was beside me as I personally reflected on our journey. The Lord sustained me; every step of the way the Lord’s Hand was upon me pushing me to go further even though I was way past my limit. As I lay on the floor, I was now drowning to sleep content that one my weakest point, God carried me.

Plastic raincoats......
Our group went to a remote area to make catchment basin for the tribe in the mountains. It was one of the great walks that I have ever expereinced in my life. I prayed for protection and strength to the Lord for I knew what was instore for us, 8 kilometers mountain walk which means up and down, slopes, and something that will require vigor and stamina. Im just a neophyte when it comes these kinds of activities but the Lord is my strength, as long as Im doing it for His glory, I know He will always be by my side.
It rained hard but we have to go to the area, so what we did was to make plastic cellophanes for our protection from the rain. And it really served its purpose, it protected our things and our bodies from the hard rain. Have you used this kind of rain coat?It was a walk to remember, I feel so close to God, as if the clouds are within reach, with His magnificent creation, the rain, the coldness of the breeze and the sound of the crickets whispering to my ears, welcoming me with gratitude. Felt the sweat trickling down my face with the hard rain pouring, every now and then I try to catch my breath after every elevated part and try to stay cool when I reach flat zones.
Im writing more but cant keep the thoughts from coming through and I'll have to end here, still waiting for the continuation of Gary's story, I have to admit that is a great story teller than me, I have always been the frustrated writer and a trying hard blogger.

My Kalipay Trip
My First Kalipay Trip
By Gary G Idulza
By Gary G Idulza
In the wee hours of the morning on November 14th 2008, a group of Christians traveled to the slopes of one of the mountains of Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental, Philippines to build a project; a catchments’ basin in one of the numerous springs that jot the mountain side. And I was one of them that journeyed to that awesome place.
Barangay Kalipay is one of the barangays of Gingoog City which translates as “joy” or “happiness” in English and what joy that did awaited us at that wonderful place, a home to a lot of our Higaonon brethren. We traveled for 5 hours from Cagayan de Oro City where I lived and to Kalipay, Gingoog City. But Poruk 6 of Kalipay was only our pit stop for our final trek to the place were we gonna build a catchments’ basin.
We stayed for a while at our brethren Boy Sin-ingans’ house; it was a simple wooden house that was full of warm people that greeted us.

As we settled in the site area we where greeted by the mountain air with a gentle breeze as if we were welcomed by the mountain itself. We thanked and praised God that all was safe despite the heavy downpour. We had afternoon snacks then we inspect the exact site for the catchments’ basin and of we go, we started that afternoon the foundations for the catchments’ basin we dug through the mud and found out that the mud was not too deep and the added bonus was that right below the mud were we will put the catchments’ basin was a compact soil good for establishing our project. God was indeed with us, He provided everything for the success of our project including the exact place on where we are going to put the projects’ foundations. We stopped our work for the moment so that the foundations of the project would harden. We then bathe in the spring and after a while we had early dinner. We were miles away from the nearest electricity pole. As we had early dinner we also slept early at around 6:30 in the evening we were already going to bed contented that everything was going as planned. We thanked and praised the Lord Almighty that though the trek was somewhat arduous and exhausting for a city folk as me, we were not a bit tired. First day of our journey ends.
To be continued.....

Bitter sweet realizations....
I just came fresh from a three day youth discipleship conference and I feel the spiritual fullness and it feels so great, I feel so energized. I had bitter and sweet realizations.
The messages opened my eyes to these realizations in my life.
I cried while walking on my way home, alone in a remote provincial road from my children ministry.
I cried coz I realized vital things. One speaker talked of stewardship, and I took it so hard and realized that i was not a good steward with my life. There so many opportunites, time and relationships wasted and for me its bitter coz I know I could no longer do anything about it. But there's no use crying over spilled milk, know the Lord is not through with my life yet, and I praise God for His guidance and for using people to guide me. Its sweet because I still have time to do better and to do the best for the Lord.
