its the condition of the heart.....
I had the chance to play the guitar today, I loved to play the good old songs I learned when i was in college and remembered the days when I first played it with so much passion that I learned to play it all by myself with the help of a chord chart and the overly motivating side comments of my mother, thanks to her I was motivated to learn a few chords to start my first song " Ang Huling Elmbimbo " by the eraser heads. Im a eheads fan, I loved their songs and many songs followed after that first song I learned.
Then, after playing a couple of songs, I felt pain with my left fingers, they were red and sure was not that used to playing the guitar that long. I enjoyed the music and went on with work. Then, the same fingers I use to pray for others.
When we fold our hands, the thumb is nearest us. So we begin by praying for those closest to us- our loved ones. ( Philippians 1:3-5)
The index finger is the pointer. We pray for those who teach- Bible teachers and preachers and those who teahc children ( 1 Thessalonians 5:25).
The next finger is the tallest. It reminds us to pray for those in authority over us- national and local leaders and our supervisor at work ( 1 timothy 2:1-2).
The fourth finger is usually the weakest. Pray for those who are in trouble or who are suffering ( James 5:13-16)
Then comes our little finger. It reminds us of ou smallness in relation to God's greatness. Ask Him to supply our needs ( Philippians 4:6,19).
Its was a reminder, those bruised fingers, its the best gift we can give to others, its something that money cant buy. When we pray for people we care about, even though they are far from us, miles away or have not seen them in years, it seems that we never really were apart from them for they are always remembered in our prayers.
